30 Sept – 7 October 2022
We were honoured to have Courtney and Monia Hendriks from PETRA Children’s Institute, now living and working in Zambia, to train three of our leaders to also be trainers too in future to present the PETRA course “Entering the world of children”. These three leaders, Ps Johannah Bopape, Ps. Elizabeth Mabelane and Ps. Petrus Lekgoathi did the first part of the training online in August and then completed the course by presenting it to a group of 21 participants.
Lots of hard work and planning went into this week of which the facilitators were trained from Friday 30 September to Sunday 2 October and then the rest of the group to be trained, came from Monday 3 October to Friday 7 October. Everybody could be proud of receiving well-deserved certificates for practically applying what they learned in the community of Hebron where it was hosted.
The community of Hebron truly opened their hearts to receive and accommodate this big group which also consisted of participants coming from as far Eastern Cape and White River.
We are very grateful for Ps. Annah Thobejane opened her house for these 8 days to be the venue where the training took place as well as hosting and accommodating many of the participants.
Three local Hebron ladies as well as Ps. Seipati from Senotlelo did the catering for these eight days, treating everybody to delicious meals to have sufficient energy to complete a tough but very worthwhile week of training.
We are looking forward to seeing the good fruit in our communities from this training, as we better understand how to approach and work with children.
